On October 21, 2024, the Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers held a course “Rights and guarantees of protection of whistleblowers” for civil servants of the State Committee for Television and Radio-Broadcasting of Ukraine.
Topics that were considered during the training:
- Corruption whistleblower: concepts, rights and guarantees of protection.
- The main principles of activity of authorized units (authorized persons) in matters of prevention and detection of corruption in the sphere of protection of whistleblowers.
- Internal policies and procedures for the organization of activities of authorized units (authorized persons) on issues of prevention and detection of corruption in working with whistleblowers.
- Cooperation with whistleblowers, ensuring compliance with their rights and protection guarantees.
- Formation of a favorable environment for whistleblowers and a corporate culture of respect for whistleblowers in the institution.
After graduation, Glib Golovchenko, director of the Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers, Doctor of Science in Education, Secretary of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine granted the state-standard certificates to employees of the State Committee for Television and Radio-Broadcasting of Ukraine.
In particular, he said: “This program is an important part of our joint fight against corruption aimed at strengthening public trust in public institutions… It is important that public servants working in the field of television, radiobroadcasting and the press are aware of these provisions and can actively contribute transparency and integrity in their activities”.
