ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE



On December 11, 2024, the Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers completed the training course “Using Artificial Intelligence in the Media Industry.” The final lecture covered the use of artificial intelligence for working with video and images, as well as key services such as Midjourney, Leonardo AI, Pika Labs, and HeyGen.

Glib Golovchenko, Director of the Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers, Doctor of Science in Education, Secretary of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, Honored Journalist of Ukraine, congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the training course “Using Artificial Intelligence in Media Work” for specialists from the State Guard of Ukraine and media professionals.

In his address to the course participants, he stated: «This course has become an important step in your professional development, as it not only provides knowledge of cutting-edge technologies but also offers the opportunity to adapt these tools to your everyday workflows. At the Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers, we sincerely believe that with the knowledge you have gained, you will be ready to face new challenges and actively implement innovations in Ukraine’s media landscape. This course has prepared you to work with artificial intelligence, marking a significant milestone in enhancing communication strategies, optimizing workflows, and increasing the efficiency of your activities».

Glib Golovchenko also summarized the Institute’s activities in 2024: “Throughout 2024, the Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers conducted training courses for specialists from the Administration of State Guard of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and the State Audit Service of Ukraine, who are responsible for interaction with the media. Additionally, the Institute organized training courses and seminar workshops for specialists from the Communication Departments of central executive authorities, as well as for managers and creative professionals in the media industry.

Today, we conclude the training course “Using Artificial Intelligence in Media Work.”

This year, the Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers has conducted nine courses on this topic, enhancing the qualifications of professionals from security agencies, central executive authorities, as well as managers and creative workers in the media industry.

In addition to traditional courses covering updates in Ukrainian legislation, practical skills in video and photo shooting, gadget-based filming, video editing, and SMM, the Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers also introduced new courses in 2024 focusing on media literacy and grant opportunities for media.

Moreover, the first group of women camera operators was trained for the Kyiv TV channel, marking an important step in supporting gender equality and developing professional skills.

It is important to emphasize that enhancing the qualifications of communication department employees and media professionals is crucial for supporting the effective functioning of government agencies and the media. Learning new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, is essential to adapt to the evolving demands of the digital world.

The Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers continuously monitors current trends, promptly organizes courses to meet the needs of professionals, and provides opportunities for the development of the country’s media and communication sectors.

All the institute’s training activities aim to strengthen Ukraine’s informational stance during the war, respond effectively to fake news threats, disseminate socially important information both within the country and internationally, and protect the national media space.

We hope that in the coming year, 2025, the Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers will remain just as valuable, essential, and engaging for the state and its participants”.

Denys Zamrii, the curator of the course “Using Artificial Intelligence in Media Work,” demonstrated practical applications of common services for creating images, videos, and avatars. The media trainer shared insights on using these tools effectively and highlighted key features that can simplify and expedite the generation of high-quality media products.
