On September 12, 2023, a training course under the program “Communications in the field of gender equality” for employees of the communication units of the National Police of Ukraine and employees of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine began at the UDRPI.

Glib Golovchenko, Acting Director of the UDRPI, Honored Journalist of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Secretary of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
In particular, he noted: “Within the framework of European integration and adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to European legislation, we undertook to “taking into account the issue of equality between men and women when developing and implementing laws, regulations, administrative provisions, policies and measures”. But the issue of gender equality is not only a question of legislation, it is primarily a question of the values of equality of rights and freedoms. Gender equality means that all human beings have the freedom to develop their personal capacities and freedom of choice without the constraints associated with rigid gender roles. That is, the different behaviours, aspirations and needs of women and men are taken into account, valued and supported equally (European Commission, 2004). Ensuring gender equality is a serious resource for the economic and social development and security of Ukraine. Therefore, the issue of communication in the field of gender equality is important for our country today. Therefore, I hope that this course will be useful for you as professionals who must be effective in their work. Wish you success!”.

Curator of the course is Maria Dmytrieva, deputy head of the department of the UTRPI, national expert on gender issues.

- Sexism and misogyny. Forms of violence against women. Sexual violence is associated with conflict.
- Linguistic tools for ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men.
- National legal framework for ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men. Action plan for the implementation of the Communication Concept in the field of gender equality.
- The international legal framework for ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men.
- Women and men in the mirror of the Ukrainian mass media.
- Gender-sensitive communication policy.
After graduation, students will receive state certificates.
