The Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers (UTRPI) held an online seminar-training on the topic: “Preparation for the next stage of electronic declaration: requirements of the legislation regarding the submission of a declaration by persons authorized to perform the functions of the state or local self-government, responsibility for untimely submission of declarations, specifying information in the declaration” (February 8, 2024).

Welcoming the listeners of the training course, Acting Director of the UTRPI, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Secretary of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, Honored Journalist of Ukraine Glib Golovchenko expressed his confidence that today’s training on the topic “Preparation for the next stage of electronic declaration: requirements of the legislation regarding the submission of a declaration by persons authorized to perform the functions of the state or local self-government, responsibility for untimely submission of declarations, specifying information in the declaration” will be useful to all participants of the event.

–I wish you all success and timely submission of declarations! – said Glib Golovchenko to his colleagues.

According to the main indicators in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), last year Ukraine showed growth by three positions, receiving 36 points out of 100 possible, and now ranks 104th among 180 countries. This is one of the best last year’s indicators in the world, the media trainer, candidate of legal sciences, noted at the beginning of his presentation. And in this year’s CPI, Ukraine demonstrated its best indicator since it has been monitored in this area.

Undoubtedly, the renewal of declaration played a key role in assessing the level of corruption risks in Ukraine. Therefore, the practical aspects of the procedure for declaring the incomes of officials, government officials-managers who make management decisions, and representatives of local self-governments are becoming relevant today.

During the training seminar, listeners received extensive information about components of declarations, and the basic rules for filling out declarations of various types.

Various situations about the provision of reliable data from declarants, as required by law, were analyzed on real stories.

Several useful advices of the media trainer, for example, about maintaining a taxpayer’s personal account, obtaining a certificate of actual accruals, will facilitate the declaration procedure and help avoid inaccuracies and errors.

Issues of ownership, joint ownership, property lease, other rights to use property, as well as determining who are members of the declarant’s family, how the value of tangible and intangible assets is assessed – these and many other aspects were considered during the training seminar.

And the most important thing is that in live communication with a lawyer, a specialist in the anti-corruption field, the students of the training course had the opportunity to find out all the questions that arise when filling out income declarations, the nuances of legislation.
