TRAINING AGAINST CORRUPTION

On September 27, the UTRPI launched a training course for employees of the State Committee for Television and Radio-Broadcasting of Ukraine aimed at protecting against actions and situations that could be considered corrupt.

Today, the first topic of the course was discussed – “Identification of corruption risks and their assessment”.

Glib Golovchenko, Acting Director of the UTRPI, Honored Journalist of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Secretary of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, opening the training course, expressed the hope that the acquired knowledge will be useful for the participants, will contribute to the acceleration of the European integration of Ukraine, strengthening the indomitability of each employee and the nation in general.

What is corruption, what are the characteristics of this “institute”, what risks may civil servants face in their daily work, how will they be assessed and what suspicions of participation in corruption schemes will arise if you do not properly protect yourself from illegal actions or inaction? The participants got answers to these and many other questions during the explanation of the general requirements of the anti-corruption legislation, its latest changes, in particular, regarding the opening of declarations of officials.

During the class, the concept of legal responsibility for corruption was discussed in detail. Specific decisions of public officials illustrate the risks of corruption, highlight certain loopholes for abuse, and build the logic of suspicion regarding their use for obtaining undue benefits.

As a result, the listeners got acquainted not only with the theoretical concept of “legal responsibility for corrupt acts”, but also with actual court decisions in this area, which eloquently illustrate the assessment of crimes.

Concepts such as “corruption offense” and “corruption-related offense” were also analyzed, as well as the degree of responsibility for their commission.

The UTRPI`s anti-corruption training course aims to inform employees of the State Committee for Television and Radio-Broadcasting of Ukraine with knowledge and skills on how to recognize and fight corruption.
