This was the topic of the online seminar held by the Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers (UTRPI) with the support of the State Committee for Television and Radio-Broadcasting of Ukraine, for editors and creative workers of regional media and communication specialists of central executive authorities (26th of January, 2024).

Promptly responding to the trends and challenges that arise in society, the UTRPI offers listeners training courses to improve communication, in particular, regarding state policy on gender issues. A separate and important block of the training course is the problem of gender specifics of crisis communication, – said acting director of the UTRPI, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, secretary of the National Union of the Journalists of Ukraine, Honored Journalist of Ukraine Glib Golovchenko, opening the seminar.

Media trainer, deputy head of the department of UTRPI, national expert on gender issues Maria Dmitrieva told to the audience about the basic knowledge and issues of equal opportunities in public life in Ukraine and the world, state policy in this area, challenges that our country faces during Russia’s armed aggression in Ukraine.
What exactly are the conditions for the delivery of messages that ensure their effectiveness, that is, the adequate reaction of people of different social groups to the received information, which population groups can suffer the greatest losses due to incorrect, incomplete information, how different sources, forms and methods of spreading messages affect the achievement of the goal – these and others aspects were analyzed during the seminar using specific examples, in particular those that lead to distortion of the content of information, and therefore tragic events.
The seminar discussed gender aspects in key communication blocks, areas of state crisis communication, implementation of the National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace, Security” for the period until 2025.
