Director of the Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers Glib Golovchenko took part in Donbas Media Forum

One of the biggest events of the Ukrainian media industry took place in Kyiv. Donbas Media Forum gathered 857 participants, including leading experts of Ukraine and other countries on media development issues, representatives of international specialized organizations, and journalists from different parts of Ukraine.

Glib Golovchenko, Director of the Ukrainian Institute for Advanced Training of Television, Radio Broadcasting and Press Workers, Secretary of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences: “Donbas Media Forum is a great platform for exchanging opinions. A huge number of experts inspires a joint search for solutions to the problems of the information industry. Today, it is the issue of the information security of the country, and the work of journalists in war conditions, the challenges faced by regional media, especially those located in the front-line territories and forced to solve not only the financial problems of newsrooms, but also the issue of physical safety of newsrooms and employees, and many other problems that representatives of the media industry face every day. And we will never be able to solve these problems alone. So, the exchange of ideas and cooperation to solve common problems is what makes such large industry events valuable.”

The focus topic of this year’s Forum is ” Borders vs frontiers: the role of regional media in the protection of freedom of speech in the conditions of prolonged war”. During the Forum, 47 events took place (panel discussions, workshops, presentations, a lecture, and a public discussion), 9 films were shown, free consultations on digital and legal security were offered to participants, and 3 exhibitions were held at the Forum location.
